On 9th October, our BS2 students had a fabulous day at JSMTC Indefatigable developing their leadership skills. In groups, each student had the opportunity to be the leader, working through 6 Army Command tasks. The leader was given the instructions about the task, which they had to relay to their team and devise a plan about how to solve the problem. Some students were reticent about being a leader, but their confidence developed over the tasks, and they were able to communicate clearly to their team and successfully solve all the problems. Well done!
The students also had the opportunity to learn about sailing. Unfortunately, it was too windy on the Mena Straits to go out on the water, but the students still had a great time trying on the sailing kit and getting into the boats. Thank you to Dave, Leah and the Nuffield Trust for delivering such an exciting session. We will be back when the weather improves!
The Manchester Fire Service was also visiting JSMTC, so they kindly gave the students a presentation about fire safety and about the different scenarios they deal with. It was a really informative session.
Thank you to Major Kelly Edkins and Warrant Officer Pete Newton from JSMTC Indefatigable for organising such a great day and delivering the Command tasks. Thank you to RAF Valley Photographic Section for the great pictures.
