Twelve Pupils aged 10 to 11 years, from Ysgol Llanfawr had their second ‘Gallwn / Yes we can’ session at INDY climbing wall, led by Eagle House.
The session was a great success with all pupils stepping out of their comfort zones to attempt a climb. The pupils demonstrated maturity beyond their years. They were all so positive towards each other, encouraging and offering advice to help their friend get to the top.
As well as learning the basics of climbing pupils had to learn how to abseil back down.
“I can’t believe how high I managed to climb. It is mind blowing” – Jimmy
The change in confidence and energy after one climb was amazing.
First Climb John asks “Climber ready? Grace replies, “Yeah” with a slight sound of uncertainty.
Second climb John asks “Climber ready?” Grace replies, “I was born ready!”
“No matter your age respect needs to be earnt and today every single one of you has earnt mine and Grant’s respect.” John – Eagle House Instructor
Most of the pupils were nervous before the session but they should all be very proud of their personal achievements. Da Iawn plant.
Thank you to John and Grant from Eagle House for a fantastic session.
